In this second Odyssey collection, the writers and actors in general seem more liberated. In the first collection, they loosed the bonds from traditional kids stuff and here they go further. We get episodes where families seem similar to us (Family Vacation), we get detailed research in historical stories, and we get our first "continuing characters" aside from Connie, Tom, and Whit. Some of the characters (i.e., Ned Lewis) didnt last long, but at least they continued for a few episodes. This album had the first two-parters and it had three of them and all were quite good. The writers showed they could write mysteries and even get into international intrigue. There werent really any "cry" ones on this set, but nearly every other genre was covered. Way to get going with a bang, Odyssey!

This is one of the few "early" albums which contained episodes in basically the same order that they were released on the radio.
