Sunset BOW was cute and very entertaining. Of course, Harlow Doyle ALWAYS is. =)
The long way home was really neat because first of all, we got to hear a little more about the Timothy center and second of all, it introduced us to a couple of new people (I think, unless I've missed an episode).
Just my opinion!
In Christ, Laura~
Ooooh. Not too hot! First part is kinda okay, but "the long way home" is boring and uninspiring. Color me unimpressed...
what's the deal with these split episodes? they were already short enough at 30 minutes!
Glad to see the new shows haves started. I heard Jason and Katrina wont be in this section of new shows. Hope they come back. Odyssey has left us in the dark about Eugene and Katrina getting married. Whats up with that? I miss Jared. I wish he would quit that cartoon he left Odyssey for and come back and work for odyssey. The best Jared shows were the buck stops here. the spy who bug me. I heard the new kid name Sara is played by the little girl on star trek voyager who hangs around 7 of 9 aka jerri ryan.
Have any of you heard this one, I tried to listen to it on realplayer but it did not work (The other new ones worked but not this one)
It Wasn't realistic, and kind of stupid they should do one about Aubrey accepting Christ.
I think "I Slap Floor" is a very humorous episode.
Wow! The best thing yet this season is definitely "I Slap Floor"! Be prepared for everything you ever dreamed of happening in Odyssey to happen...
I enjoyed " Slapfloor" It was the most imaginative story "Odyssey " has released this year. It was also wonderful to have " Most " of the principal players back. To bad Jack, Joanne, and Jason didn't have a part. Nonetheless, I enjoyed it! Good job
WILL THEY QUIT MAKING THESE STUPID UNREALISTIC ONES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Did you catch the plug for the latest AIO album Virtual Realities? It said "reality has been replaced in Odyssey with virtual..." or something along those phrases. I'll say, I'd like to see some of the real Odyssey return. I won't even talk about "Idol Minds", it almost ruined my day. Well, I'll say one thing, I read the summery on the official site and immediately I was disappointed. The kids miss whit after he's been gone a few days, he was gone for at least two years and the kids never rioted. And what's the deal with rioting kids, how many of you have ever seen 50 fifth graders totally crazy?
"What do you think?" was ok, I didn't like the idea origanally but it was done really well and it turned out fine.
They were both boneheaded, moranic, idiotic, stupid, dumb, lame, boring, monotonous, snore city, etc...
Sort of disappointing. Not as bad as the "stupid unrealistic ones", but not a classic
I don't think they should do any more with Aubrey. It seems like she is always complaining or causing trouble. I hope I am not the only one who thinks this.
This was a funny episode that taught a good lesson that we haven't heard in awhile. The part with Connie trying to cook is hilarious, and has just enough humor to make it funny, but not go overboard with it. The only problem I had was this: In "You Win Some, You Lose Some", Connie wasn't as bad a chef as in this episode, was she? Other than that, it was a great episode!
This one was hilarious! My brother and I laughed through the whole thing. Although, I thought that David and Mandy would've got that the story was a joke when Connie and Eugene were engaged, but that's just my opinion.
I slap floor was great. Richard Maxwell as the mayor of odyssey if only. Connie & Eugene in love???????Bart Rathbone free spaces camp. Those words Bart and free don't match. If your a regular to odyssey you know what I mean. Blackgaard's back as Richard as Blackgaard as Richard. it will take me weeks to figure that one out. What's that bad smell Richard is wearing??? I slap floor they said was a joke in the name. Could it be nea slaper?
This episode was stupid. It had NO plotline whatsoever. I am sorry, but it is true.
This message was edited by the webmaster. I'm sorry, but I don't really want people to blast each other about spelling, etc.
This message was edited by the webmaster. This message board is not for you to exchange your opinions about each other. It's to talk about the latest AIO episodes. I don't mind if you argue about them, but don't argue about each other's spelling, etc. Please. (By the way, someone who misspells mention and merely should not argue about spelling.)
I'm not that impressed by the new episodes. Some of them have been o.k. such as the parody of the prodigal son story (I forgot what it was called). I Slap Floor was humorous, and I was really starting to enjoy it when all of a sudden Richard Maxwell (my favorite guy besides Jared - waaaah!) turned into Dr. Blackgaard. That really threw me. I would really appreciate a translation of "I Slap Floor" from some one who really knows. There are soooo many different suggestions! One more thing - I wish they would use some of the original characters and cut the new kids - especially Aubrey. Talk about a BRAT!
For everyone wondering still...I Slap Floor means...April Fools (rearrange the letters).
I Really enjoyed this one. The old Odyssey humour back for just a little while. Bernard is telling stories again. Okay, for those of you who are repeatedly asking this question, I Slap Floor means April fools. It played April 1st. Look at the letters APRILFOOLS ISLAPFLOOR I promise it works. I admit though, I didn't get it either until someone told me.
Allow me to comment on Nathan's exelent review of "No Boundries"
First let me add to his comments at the beginng. How many times durring the past few months has someone bluted out a problem and Whit or Eugene say (Every time it's the exact same wording) "Hmmm, Ahhh, I think I can make your wish possible, come with me" or "I just happen to have written a new ROC adventure, you want to test it for me?" Can't they make up something a little more interesting than that?
Secound, The Chronicles of Narnia are my favorite books. And for the record, I think the frame story is very strong, especialy in "The Lion..." the reason? C.S. Lewis spent 4 chapters on it. AIO, take a hint.
Other than my nitpicks, this episode was definately better than a lot of previous episodes. One last thing, I want to know what Nathan means by "Good Job John Beebee, your back in your stride" It's a good job alright but Beebee has never been out of stride.
I had missed the first couple minutes of " No Boundries ", so I didn't know that it delt with " The Room of Consequences " When the accident happened near the end and the Police Officer gave his report, I was flabbergasted. I said to myself , this is about as sad as " It Is Well "!!I enjoyed this episode. Especially being a parent and wondering if my saying no to my children is necessarily too rough at times.
No Boundaries was one of the best this season. Though that is saying very little. I thought it was a little to quick and rushed. In half an hour we see Alex go from a fairly nice kid who doesn't know what a turtle [neck] sweater is, as well as computer geek who has created the Whit's End web page, to Rodney Rathbone's apprentice. So to speak. Mouthing off and vandalizing, as well as telling his parents how to be parents. He is the basic rebellious brat who no one likes. David Strauseburge felt that way too as it seams. I didn't pay attention to the beginning of the show, but when Alex/s parents began to talk about bed times and chewy______ whatever bars, I knew right away that it was ROC! (Though in "Not Fair" the situation was slightly similar.) When David got killed, my earlier assumptions were even more confirmed.
Rating based on the quality of episodes this season five out of five ***** Rating based on all AIO episodes: two out of five *****

They don't hold my attention at all i like the longer episodes a whole lot more...

I listened to this 2 times its probably the best this year although I did like you win some you lose some..good job..
I know I've commented before on how this new season has been pretty rotten, but I heard the last Saturday episode and just wanted to say I thought it was pretty good. Especially the first (A Matter of Manners); Whit is back to teaching kids helpful lessons- through their follys! I also think 'The Seven Deadly Dwarves' was pretty clever. I still think they need to start introducing a supervillain. No Dr. Blackgaard this time, of course. Maybe some sort of anti-christ, or an atheist who is determined to lead all the Christians in Odyssey (AND the world, maybe?) away from God. That would sure take some sensitivity on the part of the writers though. Well I know this should probably be on the Town Hall forum, but I couldn't get through. Comments, anyone?
I've been listening to Odyssey since it began, I just wanted to say that I never thought I would come to the point where I would rather hit the snooze button and sleep instead of listening to AIO. I know that the writers at AIO have had their ups and downs, but this season has been the worst slump i've ever heard. And whatever happened to the kind, caring, creative characters (Whit, Connie, Eugene)? They practically act like different people in these new episodes. I wonder what the actors think about these episodes? Also, how many people that listen to Oddesey are actually between 8-12? I think that the majority of listeners are older, devoted fans. (I'm 17.) What does everyone else think?
I read your comments on this season today and just wanted to say that I think the majority of AIO listeners are older. I'm 16, and I have five bro's and sisters who are all younger than I am. My thirteen year old brother is a devoted Odyssey listener, but the others (11,9,and 7) could care less. Oh, they listen occasionally, but for the most part, I think the '8-12 age group' would rather be watching VeggieTales or Pokemon. I know quite a few other families who are the same way. (Cousins, friends, ect.) So that's what I think about that subject, and also that us older listeners are getting tired of these kiddie shows (for 'ages 8-12', you know). I hope the producers can get it back together soon. I've played my Darkness Before Dawn, The Search for Whit, and those older (and better) albums so many times over this past season they're getting really worn out!
I didn't like this episode. It was really lousy. And It just so happens that not all of the kids 8-12 would rather be watching Veggietales or Pokemon. Pokemon is stupid. I happen to be 11 myself and I like Veggietales, but not as much as Adventures In Odyssey. This show had a iniscule plotline, if you can call it that.
I meant to say "miniscule".
Sorry, A.Nonymous, didn't mean to offend any one (and all the other 8-12 year olds who DO like AIO). I'm pretty bad at being sensitive. Glad to know there are those of you who do. We all count! :D
Very Dippy episode. The scenes with Eugene and Harlow were the best. also, don't worry Jasmine, Sometimes I think I am the only one in my age group who likes AIO.
Sorry about my comment about older fans being more loyal. I'm sure there are many 8-12 year olds that would like to see AIO return to it's glory days as well. I just wish the writers at AIO didn't feel as if they have to write the stories DOWN to a child's level. I was around the age of 12 when the Darkness before Dawn saga was first aired, and I felt that I could fully appreciate the complicated storylines at that age. My apologies to all young odessey fans.
The actor that played Jared left AIO so that he could star in a Saturday morning cartoon called Monster Rancher. Well, I read that that show was cancelled. I wonder if this means that Jared will return to AIO. I'm hoping that he will. He was my favorite new kid. I think it's interesting that Dwayne hasn't appeared in any episodes since Jared left. I guess it's because they were a team. It's kind of like cereal and milk. You can't have the best (cereal) without the accommodation that makes it even better (milk.)
Editor's Note: Jared (Brandon Gilberstadt) went to star as Justin Taylor in the show "100 Deeds for Eddie McDowd" on Nickelodeon; he was never on "Monster Rancher". One of the main reasons that Dwayne left Odyssey was because (why else?) he began to sound too old to be a kid. But I wouldn't count on never hearing his voice again....
This new live show was funny.burnard, connie, mandy, eugen all think they put whit in the hospital. Never eat anything connie makes her self. never lift a box with eugen.and always put the windows down in the computer room when bernard is washing windows. Eugen my computer aaaaaaaaaaah.
great job odyssey staff writers.
what time does aio come on???
adventures in odyssey is played all over the world you should call focuse on the family to find out what time and station it playes in your town 1 800 a family this is for the last person who ask when dose odyssey play
Wow. Some pretty negative things being said about the age groups. Well, I think that the 8-12 age recomendation are for the kids who won't expect too much out of the actors leaving and who will come back and whatever. I'll bet they just listen to the 25 minute show for pure entertainment and morals where AIO staff will not have to worry about their shows being picked and pushed around at.
One of the bdest ones yet! I wish fotf would make more like that.
And another things i like the new one s espically the split ones, better than the old ones.
Bye!
Okay, so we've all been saying how much we disliked the spring season and splits (all but A. Nonymous/JJ C./Regis Philban) but how many people are going to ignore AIO from now on? We may not have liked the spring season, but raise your hand if you're not going to listen to the fall season. My guess is that no one's hands shot up. My guess is that everyone still likes AIO, despite the disappointment of this spring. Now, I will acknowledge that some people who seam to be well connected with FOF say that this upcoming season will be exciting, and they also said last season stunk, so I'll take their word as fairly true.

In my oppinion these where the only two good AIO shows this season. I have to admit that I am 18 and probably expect more out of them than my 7 year old cousin who liked all the spring shows except for idol minds. But still, Whit's Flop wasn't that great of an episode but it was a lot better that this spring season. This past season I really didn't have the egerness that I usually have to listen to the show. I almost would rather not have listend. But I've been listening for 13 years now and don't plan to quit just because they had a bad season. Do any of the rest of you Odyssey Veterans?
The Best. The Greatest. Only Mandy's Debut and I Slap Floor were better. Ever. Yup. 3rd greatest episode.
Do you really think that Idol Minds was that great of an episode or are you just starting a debate? If you really think it was a great episode what did you see in it that made it good? I'd have to say you just want a debate when you say that Idol Minds is the 3rd best episode ever. I mean to say that you're saying that Idol Minds is better than 400+ episodes.....I DON'T THINK SO!!!
I absolutley love AIO and I very nearly own each and every episode... but not my collection is not complete. My comment is (or question, rather): Who plays the parts to the characters? I wish I could see a complete listing, including their carreer histories. I've traced down a few of them to their agencies, therefore revealing their names and their carreer history. I'm kinda obsessed with this cause I feel like I'm related to the characters... lol... I've been faithfully listening scince 1990, so the charactors of AIO are quite imbedded in my mind. If anyone has ANY info on this... email me. (I'm particularly looking for Dr. Blackgaard right now, he is the best.) : hlyghstpwr@hotmail.com
We have a pretty long list of the actors who play the parts here:

What are the shows that odyssey people watch jimmy barclay like rick granson privet eye starquest is another favorite The girls of odyssey like watching nick grant as chad pearson. BTV is watch all over odyssey. Favorite radio shows are the jimmy barclay show The Cryn brian dern show
Okay. Katie Leigh (Connie Kendal) has been acting since 1984 when she was on the muppet babies. She also acted with Hal Smith (Whit) and Will Ryan (Eugene) on Dumbo's Circus. Hal Smith played Otis the town drunk on the Andy Griffith show. Will Ryan played Tigger and Rabbit on Pooh's Corner. Allen Young (Jack Allan) played Wilber on Mr. Ed and scrooge McDuck on Ducktales. That's about all I know about the actors of the show that I can give out.
Okay I've listened to the program for quite a while now. I started in 1987 then in '90 moved to Portugal to live with my dad and in '96 came back to the states. I've always enjoyed AIO and even though this spring season was-no doubt- the worst in AIO history (with the exception of two.) I will be listening until Jan. 13, 2001 when I ship out for boot camp for the U.S. Navy. I really hope that when I come out of the service that fotf wil have made shows that I can sit down and enjoy...even if I stay in for 20 years...there is no reason that the writers couldn't keep the show alive.
rmaxwell here TVLAND is showing a old tv show from the 80s called coming of age.One of the main stars is jack allen,I mean allen young who playes jack on odyssey.I hope they start playing the classic tv show he was on called MR.ED
:)
Ive been watching disneys new cartoon called recess.Ive been listening to the voices of the people dowing the cartoon.I think the kid name manwell is played by odyssey own Nathaniel gram. This actors name is Blake Ewing. This cartoon is funny. if anyone can tell me the address to where the cartoon is made please post my name and nathaniel. Paul.
I read at AIOHQ that Richard Maxwell was originally going to be Tasha Forbes!!!!! That would've been a great ep. It also would have had to bring back Jason, and maybe Jack and Joanne. Does anyone know if there is a copy of the original script out there?
