This show slightly overlaps the story of Saul and David told in 161: Isaac the True Friend and 46: The Shepherd and the Giant, though those stories were told from David and Jonathan's perspectives and this story is told from Saul's. Many of the same actors played roles they previously played, including Walker Edmiston as Samuel and Gary Reed as David. One scene is even duplicated in both 161: Isaac the True Friend and this episode—the scene where Saul throws his spear at David.

This episode contained a song (sung by the women of Israel about Saul and David) composed by Carol Eidson and arranged by John Doryk.
